Love Letters
Speaking of staged readings, the Thistle Dew Dessert Theatre is offering A.R. Gurney’s oft-produced
Love Letters in that format (just in time for Valentine’s Day), with a rotating cast of actors who are actually couples, including Don Hayden and Nisa Davis-Hayden, and Diane and Lewis Rooker and others.
The twist is that Love Letters (which is literally told through letters) is a tale of infidelity. The two characters meet as children, and ultimately fall deeply in love. But the man is married to someone else, with children, etc. However, the affair continues for decades, until one of them dies. —
