When an alien race, the Boov, invade Earth, one misfit among them (voiced by Jim Parsons) is forced to befriend a fugitive Earthling child (Rihanna) and help her find her mother (Jennifer Lopez), deported to Australia with the rest of humanity. A promo for this lifeless glob of eye-candy played last year with Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and comparing the two goes to show that what might be mildly amusing for one minute doesn't become 94 times funnier just because you pad it out to 94 minutes. Besides, the most interesting thing about the short was the voice performance of Steve Martin as the pompous Boov leader, and he's shoved into the background here while Rihanna and Parsons go all cutesy-pie on us.
