This production of Alan Ball's comic play about five reluctant bridesmaids at a wedding they all hate—think Steel Magnolias, with younger women and more sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll—benefits greatly from the chemistry between the actresses: Stephanie Hodson, Amber Marsh, Kellie Yvonne Raines, Rebecca Scott and Katie Walton. It tackles some serious subjects—slut shaming, sexual abuse, homophobia—but generally goes for the lighter laughs, with direction by Sean B. O'Neal, a fellow who knows a thing or two about generating laughs.
