Broadway Sacramento brings a long, cool drink of water to Sacramento with the touring production of In the Heights. This musical is fresh, lively and definitely not just another song-and-dance love story. Set in New York City’s Washington Heights, the show covers three days in the lives of the neighborhood’s Dominican-American residents, with music that includes soul, hip-hop and salsa music—and energetic dance to match. If you’re tired of musical theater that’s same ol’, same ol’—this is the fix. The show opens Wednesday, which isn’t soon enough.
