House of the Dead
This is the first live-action horror movie based on a video game that I’ve ever seen in which the game’s animation is actually used as a repeated special effect. This is not a good thing. It just adds another layer of cheese to one of the most clueless, poorly acted, banally written and crudely shot zombie movies ever made. The flesh-eaters here interrupt “the rave of the year” on the Isla del Muerte (Isle of Death), off the coast of Seattle, to butcher nearly an entire dance floor of gyrating party animals and all latecomers, but not before a couple of soon-to-be victims bare their poster-child breasts. The boat captain and his squinty first mate are played by
Das Boot’s severely slumming Jürgen Prochnow and Clint Howard. The film was directed by Uwe Boll.
