Hot (dang!) cocoa mix
Before the weather gets too warm, milk any remaining chilly nights as hot-cocoa opportunities. Interesting choice of words, no? As it turns out, it’s also an interesting and common choice to add milk powder as an ingredient for lots of hot-cocoa mixes, particularly the ones that instruct to “just add water,” including Equal Exchange’s organic blend. Ironically, Silly Cow Farms cocoa, packaged in charming and reusable glass milk bottles, contains no dairy. Use rich, non-phlegm-producing almond milk and add one of the flavors—Chocolate Moo-usse, Chocolate Truffle, Chocolate-Chocolate, Marshmallow Swirl—for a warm, vegan liquid desert. Find it at Nugget Markets for about $6.
