Horns aplenty

Backwards and in high heels—and, eventually, a horn.

This week, Falcon's Eye Theatre opens the 1959 absurdist classic Rhinoceros, by Eugene Ionesco. In a small French village, a rhino is spotted and then the townspeople start turning into the horned animal. Some interpret the play as a response to the fear and conformity that accompanied the rise of the Nazis, or the anti-communist hysteria of the Cold War. 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday; $15 general, $10 students and seniors. City Studio in the Harris Center at Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway in Folsom; (916) 608-6888; www.harriscenter.net. Through November 22.
