Holly, jolly mash-up Xmas
Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some) is a play that rings true for a theater reviewer who has to cover every local holiday theater offering within a two-week period at the start of the Christmas season. It’s a dizzying ritual that has you jumping from Scrooge to Charlie Brown, from Bedford Falls to the manger in Bethlehem. That’s exactly what this spoof does, with three talented actors who portray all the characters—including pop-culture favorites like Frosty the Snowman and the Grinch. The tag team of Eric Wheeler, Gary S. Martinez and Peter Mohrmann whirl through this “fast, fond and furious” series of snippets. This ho-ho-holiday play is ho-ho-hokey—and that’s what you should come prepared to see. These are kooky cookie crumbs, not a filling holiday meal. So just fa-la-la-la-laugh along.
