Healing properties

The latest community exhibition at the Crocker Art Museum showcases the work of individuals in pain—children, teens, men, women—who used art to help ease their suffering. Aptly titled Peace and Hope, this exhibit, which opens February 2, is jointly presented by local organizations A Community for Peace and Women's Wisdom. To meet the artists—and enjoy performances by the Sacramento Youth Symphony as well as local poets—attend the reception on Sunday, February 22, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free with $10 general admission; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday; 216 O Street; www.crockerartmuseum.org.
