Halloween: Resurrection

Rated 1.0 Serial killer Michael Meyers returns for this eighth franchise installment after a 3-year hiatus in blood letting. First, he assaults his institutionalized sister (Jamie Lee Curtis) with his ever-ready butcher knife. He continues his rampage when six micro-camera-equipped participants on a reality-based Internet program called Dangertainment.com enter his boarded-up childhood home à la Blair Witch Project in search of clues to his motivation for carving up people through the years like some sort of Satanic Hof Brau chef. As the attacks evolve into the world’s first “live” snuff Internet video, a Web acquaintance of one victim tries to save the day via e-mail. The film is obscenely formulaic and vicious, Curtis looks as if she actually has been running for her life since the 1978 original, Busta Rhymes attempts to down the homicidal maniac with a few martial arts moves and Tyra Banks briefly shakes her booty to music. Directed by Rick Rosenthal (Halloween II).
