H is for owl
It’s hard to argue with the letter H. Oh, you could mount an argument for I, or M, or even O, T, U, V, W, X or Y. But for perfect balance coupled with right-angled symmetry, H is nonpareil. Remember ’70s wimp-pop band America, who was on somewhat of a hot streak, naming all its albums with words that began with the letter until concerned record executives politely asked the band to get off the H? Apparently, two new local bands feel the same way—Homo Erectus is one, Herdez is the other. Both are on the bill when Low Flying Owls celebrate the release of their new CD, Incoming Flights Outgoing Strangers, at Old Ironsides, 1901 S St., 9 p.m. this Friday, March 2. $7 gets you past Al at the door and into the show.
