So, your invitation to the ministerial conference got lost in the mail? Here’s a schedule of activities for interested outsiders.

Here are highlights of events scheduled in protest of the Ministerial Conference and Expo on Agricultural Science and Technology in Sacramento and to educate people about the issues. June 21 (Saturday)
11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.—Teach-in on the topics (location TBA)

June 22 (Sunday)
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—Community Food Festival on Sutterville Road between Freeport Boulevard and Land Park Drive.10 p.m.—Free screening of Fed Up at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street.

June 23 (Monday)
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—Street festival and rally for food sovereignty on the west steps of the Capitol building. International speakers include Percy Schmeiser, Anuradha Mittal and more. This event is sponsored by the nonprofit organization Public Citizen.

1 p.m.—Rally and march through downtown Sacramento.

7 p.m.—Panel discussion on biotech agriculture at the Crest Theatre. International speakers include David B. Hegwood (counsel to the U.S. secretary of agriculture), Amadou Kanoute (of Africa’s regional office of Consumers International in Zimbabwe), Martina McGloughlin (of UC Davis), Anuradha Mittal (of Food First), Sylvia Ribeiro (of ETC group of Uruguay/Mexico, an action group on erosion, technology and concentration), Christian Verschueren (of CropLife International in Belgium). A $5 donation is requested.

June 24 (Tuesday)
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.—Public Citizen Roundtable on Agriculture and Trade, 1701 L Street.
