Grown Ups 2

Four of the five buddies-since-junior-high of 2010's Grown Ups are back: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade. Only Rob Schneider, in an uncharacteristically smart career move, took a pass on the sequel. Sandler and his co-writer cronies Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy seem to have set the bar lower than usual for themselves (is there a level lower than the bottom of the barrel?), because this sequel lacks even the bare-bones story and half-hearted laughs of the original. Instead, Sandler and company invite celebrity pals along (Steve Buscemi, Tim Meadows, Shaquille O'Neal, Jon Lovitz) and pull talented actresses (Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, Georgia Engel) down to their level. Directing once again is schlock auteur Dennis Dugan, and the result is an $80 million YouTube video.
