Good green stuff
So, you’ve got a really nice bottle of extra-virgin olive oil on your shelf; now what do you do with it that’s special? I asked Amy DelBondio of Yolo County’s Hillstone Olive Oil (www.hillstoneoliveoil.com) about her favorite uses for a good drizzle:
“We love using our olive oil to dip a nice crusty piece of French bread into. I use it on my green salad every evening for dinner with a little salt, pepper and vinegar. I love to fry my egg in it in the morning for breakfast and it’s great to sauté garlic in and then add your favorite vegetable for a quick sauté, especially any type of greens. We also enjoy massaging it into a chicken, leg of lamb or piece of beef for roasting or barbecuing. In other words, we use it in just about everything we cook, even desserts.”
