This is it. It’s most likely the last music pick I’ll write for SN&R for a while. So, what better than to tout a show at Luna’s, that comfy and swell little living room across from the Chinese restaurant and politico bar on 16th Street—at 1414 16th Street, to be precise. Luna’s can be a tight squeeze, but it’s one of the best places in town to hear under-amplified music or live poetry. This Friday, December 3, the emphasis is on music, as local trio-plus-guests Estereo celebrates the release of its new album, My Favorite Name, with a 9 p.m., all-ages gig that also features Natalie Gordon, Erik Hanson and Scott McChane. The reasonable $3 cover should leave you enough to sample some of the venue’s quite-tasty chow, too.
It’s ga-ga garage night at Old Ironsides on Thursday, when Detroit’s Gore Gore Girls join our own Supermodel Suicide and Th’ Losin Streaks for some fine racket-making.
