Just in time for the upcoming summer action flick Superman Returns (which opens on June 28, by the way), DC Comics presents the fourth annual Superheroes Day, Saturday, June 24, at the Stage Nine Entertainment Store at Front and K streets in Old Sacramento. DC artist Ron Lim and Noel Neill, the original Lois Lane, will be on hand to pay tribute to not only the oh-so-buff, especially endowed denizens of your favorite comic books, but also the very real heroes of the Sacramento fire and police departments. Members of those respective organizations will be in attendance, along with the Man of Steel himself, naturally, who’s rumored to be bringing some of his “super” friends. The event, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., also will feature a Superman costume contest for kids 12 and younger, collectibles, and many photo and autograph opportunities. So, pull on your tights, fix that cowlick, and get there faster than a … etc., etc.
