Jonah Matranga is one of the three nicest artists I’ve ever known. When I interviewed him for my Far cover story last year, he drove me all over west San Francisco, playing the new album and sharing stories. This Friday, share the stage with friends and artists at this open-mic before Matranga plays a set himself. As he wrote on Facebook: “People that play out regularly are totally welcome, and people that don’t are very encouraged to give it a go, that’s the whole point.” Sounds like a nice mix of the unexpected—and the excellent.
