One look at Duane Peters should dispel any lingering reservations you may have to the idea that he gives a fuck. Trust me, he does not. The fully tatted, broken-toothed, perpetually soaking-wet madman changed the world of skateboarding in the late ’70s by embracing the punk movement. The way he skated pools made the Z-boys look like ’N Sync. He was also the first person to ever do the loop on a skateboard, a feat that no one else pulled off until Tony Hawk, almost 20 years later. And now he’s playing an unplugged set at 16th Street Cafe, with punk-rock legends Zander Schloss (Circle Jerks), Sean Wheeler (Throw Rag) and Brian Hanover. 2416 16th Street, www.myspace.com/duanepetersgunfight.
