Fri, June 11, Jello Biafra
Shire Road Club, 8 p.m., $15
There’s always room for Jello. Love him or hate him, there’s no denying Jello Biafra as a Bay Area hardcore and punk-rock mastermind of the 1980s. Commonly known as the former frontman to the original Dead Kennedys who rocked against Reagan, later soloing against Bush, and also ran for mayor of San Francisco. Biafra now has a new punk-rock ensemble, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. His band will share the stage with some of Sacramento’s finest punk and hardcore bands such as No Gods No Dairy and Rat Damage. Check out this show, and you might hear Biafra announce he’s running for president in 2012. 5525 Auburn Boulevard, www.myspace.com/
