Fri, July 3 Goodness Gracious Me!
Luigi’s Fun Garden, 8:30 p.m., $5
Goodness Gracious Me! is one of those Sacramento bands that sounds like it was influenced equally by all the major Sac rock ’n’ roll genres. It’s got a folk-rock Americana feel, but with hints of blues, math rock, rockabilly, emo—and even a harder side, like on “Miff.” But it’s not quite metal, which is too bad, because some speed-thrash might compliment Jeremy G.’s bluesy twang in an unexpected way, like eating spicy food, accidentally rubbing your eyes and crying greasy tears. There’ll be no sobbing at their pre-holiday show at the Fun Garden, though, just bomber rock riffs and vocal cuts that take out your knees. How congenial. 1050 20th Street, www.myspace.com/goodnessgraciousme07.
