Fri, July 2, Concerts in the Park

Not sure what to expect from what I’m coining as the annual “indie night” at summertime series Concerts in the Park, but I’ll be sure to wear my homemade shorts and I.R.S.-era R.E.M. T-shirt for the occasion. Anyway, the New Humans (pictured) and Sister Crayon will co-headline; both have new albums on the horizon. Chelsea Wolfe and Sea of Bees are the undercard; the two have new albums on the streets now. I’m not about to get into trouble by picking favorites, so let’s just say you should show up at 5 p.m. and take in all four great acts. (Now, see, don’t be saying I hate Concerts in the Park, fools.)
