There’s a brief moment in the new Appetite video “Tussy” where singer/multi-instrumentalist Teddy Briggs walks toward a Jacuzzi wearing only a towel that drops to the ground. Thankfully, no bare ass, just U.S. flag swim trunks! Anyway, the moment speaks to the eccentric and spunky appeal of the song’s lyricism (playfully cadenced, good flow!) and Briggs’ penchant for vertical-forward songwriting—drum-and-guitar harmonies with occasional folk flourishes—wraps it all up in a catchy bow. He plays all his own instruments, but now has a full band, featuring Carson McWhirter and Jesse Phillips.
