Fri, April 8, SN&R Jammies
The Refuge, 7 p.m., $7
SN&R’s Jammies competition continues at The Refuge, the unique all-ages venue spearheaded by The Sacramento Bee’s political editor Amy Chance and her church, St. John’s Lutheran. Youth bands Ask Fredrick (pictured), the Hungry, Surrender, Conquest and Take 5 will perform. Ex-Romeo Void singer Debora Iyall will be judging once again, joined by local singer/teacher Larisa Bryski and musician/writer Josh Krage. Interestingly, the venue also operates a little shop called Café Rwanda, with proceeds going towards the construction of a community medical clinic in Mumea, Rwanda. Support local youth music and humanitarian efforts. 1723 L Street, www.jammies.com.
