The Definite Articles dropped their debut, King Merriweather, last fall, but you can get a taste of the 11-track, brooding, chamber-indie-inspired full-length on Bandcamp. Recorded at John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco last year, the album showcases singer-songwriter Shawn Alpay’s composition talents—and soft but pointed alto—especially on groovy, affecting tracks like “Cartography.” Plus, look for former Wallpaper member Arjun Singh on drums.
