Fri, April 1, Carly DuHain
Fox & Goose, 9 p.m., $5
Singer-guitarist Carly DuHain is one of Sacramento’s best female voices. I first heard her sing via Dean Haakenson’s Be Brave Bold Robot; she slapped the tambourine and countered Dean’s rusty, guttural bellows with her high-ceilinged, smooth alto—and just a hint of that foothill/Sac Valley twang. You can get her 2010 solo album Rainstation—bearing no relation to or prophecy of recent weather conditions in Sacto—on Amazon.com, or at this Friday’s April Fools’ gig downtown, where she’ll also be performing with, you guessed it, Be Brave Bold Robot, Tippy Canoe, and Uni and her Ukulele featuring Zack Proteau. 1001 R Street, www.facebook.com/carlyduhain.
