Fresh eggs, spoiled dogs
Angelina McKinsey of Nut-N-Other Farms in Dixon sells her eggs and nuts at the Davis Farmers’ Market. She usually decorates about 500 eggs for her family Easter egg hunt, so I asked what she does with the leftovers:
“Well, you can put the hard-boiled eggs in your lunch, of course—or sneak it into your husband’s or kids’ lunches.
“You can make an egg salad by mashing them with some mustard or mayo and put that on top of greens with shredded carrots, or there’s always the egg-salad sandwich.
“We also add them as a little treat to our dog’s food. It’s healthy for them, and dogs like eggs. Our dogs are a little spoiled, I guess!”
