Switcheroo moves jazz programming down the dial at Cap Public Radio
Capital Public Radio is dumping jazz. Sort of.
Donors to the National Public Radio member station received letters this past week explaining that it intends to eliminate all jazz programming from its 90.9 FM frequency in favor of wall-to-wall news beginning next Tuesday, January 17. Programs such as Excellence in Jazz will soon be heard on 88.9 FM, instead; weekend programs such as Mick Martin’s Blues Party will remain unchanged.
This switcheroo comes on the heels of Jeffrey Callison leaving Insight last month. The station affiliate hopes to have a new host in place by March.
