Jump Start Café, operated by Coffee Works in East Sacramento, offers fresh-roasted coffee, house-baked pastries (try the excellent cream scone with strawberries and white chocolate), hand-cut French fries, bottles of California wine, grilled panini and rib-eye steak. The owner is a former legislative staffer who was involved with an FBI sting operation that sent legislators and lobbyists to the federal pokey a few years back.
