Float like a pool toy, sting like a bee
Sacramentans have boxing, gay rodeos, wrestling and harness racing, but who knew we had synchronized swimming? Not only is Sacramento home to the Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team, but it’s also the host city for this weekend’s West Zone Synchronized Swimming Championships! Our team will compete against teams from as far away as Alaska and Arizona for the zone title and the chance to be the best in the West. Witness grueling competition (in the form of graceful water ballet) on Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Semifinals follow on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., with finals on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free. The championships will be held at the Roseville Aquatic Center Pool, 3051 Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard in Roseville. Call (916) 296-SYNC for more information.
