Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, The

This movie begins with a dinosaur fart and continues downhill from there. The Stone-Age sets and special effects are amusing but the story, acting and humor of this prequel to the 1994 live-action feature (which was based on the animated TV show) are flatter than bedrock. Fred Flintstone (Mark Addy) and Barney Rubble (Stephen Baldwin) date waitresses Wilma (Kristen Johnston) and Betty (Jane Krakowski). Wilma turns out to be a rich girl whose snobby mother (Joan Collins) wants her to marry into more money. Even the guardian alien Great Gazoo (Alan Cumming) is irritating. Directed by Brian Levant.
