Finding Bottom
Ever wonder what Shakespeare’s comedic classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, would look like if it were given the life aquatic? Perhaps a little of The Little Mermaid, followed up by some Finding Nemo? The Roseville Theatre Arts Academy mixes a nautical theme with the best of the Bard’s comedies with its “Shakespeare Submerged” version of the fun and games in the forest outside Athens. Will that mean the mechanicals—including Bottom, the fellow who takes on the appearance of an ass—are wearing scuba gear? Will Puck and the rest of the faeries be mer- maids and men? You’ll find out if you go. The show runs at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 21 at the historic Roseville Theatre, 241 Vernon Street in Roseville. Tickets are $10 and available at the door, or by calling (916) 772-2777. For more information, visit the RTAA website at www.rosevilletheatreartsacademy.com.
