Feeling a bit parched
Millions of people around the world live without access to clean water. It’s true. While big corporations, such as Nestlé, package H2O in attractive bottles and sell those for profits galore, many people don’t have access to clean, well-managed water supplies for drinking or basic sanitation. Sacramento Committee of Water for People will celebrate World Water Day 2010 on Thursday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at The Urban Hive, 1931 H Street. The event will promote the importance of water quality and feature Ned Breslin, CEO of Water for People, who will discuss stories from the field. There also will be refreshments, a raffle, a slide presentation and live music. General admission is $10. For more information, visit www.sacramentowaterforpeople.org.
