Feed local
Eating local food may be better for health, wealth and the local economy, but finding local sources isn’t always easy. During September, the Davis Food Co-op is calling on shoppers to make 80 percent of their meals with local food as part of the national “Eat Local” challenge. This requires going beyond local fruit and veggies and incorporating local dairy, meat and herbs into meals. The Davis Food Co-op will offer a local-foods shopping list, recipe cooklet, cooking classes focused on using local food and a local wine tasting. Visit www.davisfood.coop for schedules and more information.
