Fast Five

Whatever this fifth entry in the Fast/Furious series lacks in character development, spatial-logistical coherence and words with more than two syllables, it more than makes up for with its unique approach to problem-solving. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and a buffet of supporting players from across the franchise’s four previous entries team up in Rio de Janeiro to rob a crime kingpin. Along the way, any crisis in their cinematic universe can be solved by driving fast cars at it. Need to bust your old partner in crime out of jail? Just drive fast cars at his prison bus—that should work out somehow. Have to rob a vault located in a heavily guarded police station? Try dragging it away using fast cars. Acute appendicitis? Fast cars! You get the idea. As the federal agent on their trail, The Rock sports a full beard, thus displaying his range.
