Extreme Ops
A film crew and some extreme-sports professionals (two snowboarders and a skier) go to the Austrian Alps to make a commercial, where they run afoul of a fugitive Serbian war criminal. Michael Zaidan’s script has barely enough plot to string the stunts together and not quite enough characterization to keep the faces straight. For the record, Rufus Sewell, Rupert Graves and Devon Sawa play the filmmakers; Bridgette Wilson, Joe Absolom and Jana Pallaske are the daredevils; and Klaus Löwitsch is the chief villain. Director Christian Duguay neither helps nor hinders. He simply plods through the action with the perfunctory confidence of someone who feels sure that the audience will stick around no matter what he does, as long as he keeps the excitement coming at dependable intervals.
