You’re invited to get closer to the heavens at the Davis Star Show—a two-day festival of astronomical proportions. Daytime activities include scoping the sun for solar flares and sunspots, lectures on the latest astronomical information from visiting scientists, a trade expo, educational displays and planetarium shows. On Saturday night, the astronomers will set up more than 100 telescopes of all sizes for a public star party. The celestial celebration begins on Friday from 4pm-10pm and continues on Saturday from 9am-midnight. All events are free. Veteran’s Memorial Center, 203 East 14th St, Davis.
