Event Pick of the Week
This Sunday, put on your pastels and hop aboard the Sacramento River Train for the Easter Egg Express, a 28-mile train ride for the whole family. Once onboard, thump your feet to the tunes of the strolling musician and listen to the tales of Runaway Shelle, the singing and storytelling engineer. The train will pass over the longest wooden trestle in the West, before stopping at Elkhorn Park, where you can mingle with the Easter Bunny and hunt for hidden eggs. While at the park, plop a blanket down on the lush grass and enjoy a tasty picnic lunch (think tri-tip sandwiches for the adults and peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches for the kids and vegetarians). Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for children ages 3 to 12. The train departs at 11 a.m. from E and Main streets in downtown Woodland. Call (800) 866-1690 or visit www.sacramentorivertrain.com to reserve your seat or for more information.
