Is it better to burn out than fade away? The members of Def Leppard loudly asserted as much in the song “Rock of Ages” when they were in their 20s, but these days, they seem more than content to do a little fading. If you, too, favor a lengthy existence over going out in a blaze of glory, it’s in your best interest to research longevity. Start by consulting the centenarian speakers at “Celebrating a Century of Wisdom,” a panel discussion sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Healthy Aging. On Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., panelists with triple-digit ages will share inspiring stories about what has kept them on the move for more than a century. Admission is free.
