Vienna Teng’s resume is a little unorthodox; after graduating from Stanford University as a computer science major, she worked in tech before spending seven years touring the country playing piano-driven pop songs, making an appearance on Letterman and garnering press from NPR. But then in 2010, Teng headed back to school to get her master’s degree in environmental science at the University of Michigan.
