Eight Gigs: The Silent Game

Local rock outfit the Silent Game seems like a trio, but appears to have a fourth member. In addition to a bassist, guitarist and drummer, a fourth member is listed as “Powerbook G4 PPC,” and contributes “strange noises.” It's a welcome addition, too, as all the electronics and computer bloops and bleeps fill out the standard rock tunes into something more layered and interesting. Clearly these guys are influenced by OK Computer-era Radiohead. Their music falls into the same electro-indie-rock territory as Radiohead, as well as other alternative rock bands from this time period, though the Silent Game lands on the mellower side of the equation. 1400 E Street, www.reverbnation.com/thesilentgame.
