Eight Gigs: The Lower 48

Thurs., April 2, 8 p.m., The Hideaway Bar & Grill, $5

While many Sacramentans might be familiar with the Hideaway as a dive bar with good food, pool tables and a dope old-school jukebox, it's now time to start thinking of it also as a live music venue. For the past year, it's hosted an event called Trash Rock Thursdays, which features deejays spinning “garage, psychedelic, surf, psycho, rockabilly, punk, metal, glam” and “ass-shakin' rock 'n' roll,” according to its Facebook page. For the event's one-year anniversary party, it'll bring Portland's the Lower 48 to town. The group has somewhat of a '60s garage rock sound. DJ Dalibaba and DJ Melissa Uroff will kick off the evening. 2565 Franklin Boulevard, www.facebook.com/TheLower48.
