Eight Gigs: The Enlows
Fri., May 5, 8 p.m., The Colony, $6-$8
It’s hard to believe the Enlows have been around for 18 years, and they’ve been tried-and-true through thick and thin. You could say their sound hasn’t really changed in nearly two decades, but that’s not entirely true. The rebellious youngsters of the turn of the century have turned into grizzled grownups. Their style is still oozing with pop punk, but the rough edges and scrappy sound make you want to raise your beer and cheer instead of cry into it when you’re alone late at night. You can pogo with them this Friday alongside local rockers Cassette Idols and Oakland-based punks Year of the Fist. 3512 Stockton Boulevard, http://enlows.com.
