Eight Gigs: The Brothers Comatose
Sat., March 19, 8 p.m., Harlow’s Restaurant & Nightclub, $15-$18
The Brothers Comatose have been touring the country, touting the recent release of their new album, City Painted Gold, and finding crowds of enthusiastic fans everywhere they go. People come to dance and sing along to easygoing country riffs, sassy strings, rowdy harmonica and smooth, floaty lyrics that don’t need a lot of thought to enjoy. This newest album was written in San Francisco and inspired by the current cultural upheaval that has displaced many of the artists, musicians and “weirdos” who are often considered the core of what makes up the city. 2708 J Street, www.thebrotherscomatose.com.
