Eight Gigs: The Abba Show
Mon., June 22, 8 p.m., The Abba Show, $30-$59
It's tempting to overthink the staying power of 1970s Swedish pop confection Abba and the fact that more than three decades later, a two-and-a-half-hour production—replete with sequins, tight harmonies, disco moves and put-on Swedish accents from a tribute band called ABBAsolutely fABBAulous—is touring theaters all over the country. But really, what more is there to say aside from the fact that when “Dancing Queen” comes on, singing along is about as voluntary as sneezing? Resistance is futile, “Mamma Mia,” so just embrace it and “feel that beat from the tambourine.” 1013 K Street, www.abbasolutelyfabbaulous.com.
