Eight Gigs: Susan Graham
Thurs., Feb. 26, 8 p.m., Mondavi Center, call for cover
You'll need a cup of coffee and a couple of hours to get through Susan Graham's resume. This New Mexico native has been featured in countless recital halls from Paris to San Francisco. Not one for taking the less challenging route, she's sung Barber's “Vanessa,” Gounod's “Roméo et Juliette,” as well as countless others. Her wonderful and intuitive interpretations of German and American classics have made her a star on the opera circuit and she continues to headline halls across the globe. One of the many pieces slated for the evening will be Schumann's “Frauenliebe und Leben,” which will find her challenging her mezzo-soprano voice with great effect. 9399 Old Davis Road in Davis, (530)754-2787, www.susangraham.com.
