Blackbird has quietly rebranded as an art-first eatery in recent months. Themed parties in the alley and record-release shows were only the beginning. The restaurant-meets-art gallery booked rising nu-disco artist Figgy (pictured) and Sister Crayon for its Studio 54-themed NYE party. At Studio 53, fur coats, platform shoes and sequins on sequins are encouraged. The party will celebrate all things deco and disco. Hometown favorites Sister Crayon always pack it in for DJ sets, while Figgy’s cache of R&B remixes and disco edits are sure to bring the heat and poolside vibes to counteract the impending 1st of January. 1015 Ninth Street, www.blackbird-kitchen.com.
