Sonny Landreth’s live shows of late have highlighted a return to the historic core of blues, featuring tunes by influential heroes Elmore James, Son House and Skip James. A highly underrated slide guitarist and celebrated journeyman with Clifton Chenier, John Hiatt, John Mayall and Jimmy Buffet, Landreth has been recording and performing since his 1981 debut. His remarkable slide technique, which involves playing notes and chords behind his finger slide, has drawn raves from Eric Clapton and other noteworthy players.
