It's been said before, but Sacramento is blessed to have some incredible local talent. Ross Hammond is one of those guys, and he's an incredible jazz guitarist who's spent years exploring the different sounds of the genre. His latest record is a pretty lo-fi acoustic instrumental record of all Christmas tunes. The album, Reindeer Songs, is a collection of seven of his favorite classics (“Silent Night,” “Let It Snow” and “Silver Bells” among them). Hammond's spin on these tunes makes for a wonderful, relaxing Christmas soundtrack; this holiday-themed show is part of his weekly Saturday afternoon series. 1716 L Street, www.rosshammond.com.
