Eight Gigs: Rich Corporation

Earlier this year, local quartet Rich Corporation released its debut EP, Stay Wealthy, and it's a solid batch of dance-rock tunes. Considering that the group has been together barely a year, it's a quite confident, developed sound. It brings to mind groups like the Strokes and Franz Ferdinand. The songs are high energy, fun and really catchy, with lead singer Clark Reese's soulful voice as the cherry on the musical sundae. The group has a fair amount of diversity within the dance-rock realm. In between punky garage rock riffs, and funky dance licks, it tosses in the occasional shredding solos and some syncopated heavy alt-rock chops. 1400 E Street, www.facebook.com/RichCorporation.
