Eight Gigs: Mr. Lif

In underground circles of hip-hop, Mr. Lif is a living legend. The Boston rapper thrived in the early 2000s as a member of Definitive Jux alongside El-P. The same El-P that later formed Run the Jewels with Killer Mike. Through indie label Mello Music Group, Mr. Lif has returned, reissuing his I Phantom concept album and releasing a new record, Don’t Look Down. Despite a seven-year hiatus, Mr. Lif is vigilant in his militant mind state.
